Western Maryland has lots of outdoor recreational fun for the whole family. There are forests, mountains, lakes and rivers. Visit the state park or museum. In the winter, you can go skiing or snowtubing. There is a lot of historic sites to see here too. Deep Creek Lake is Maryland's largest body of fresh water and its located here. The Appalachian Trail also runs through this area.
